Suicide Squad: The DLLorenzo Rewrite.

So when I left the cinema with my friends after watching Suicide squad I was a little bit let down by the movie! This movie was meant to be the movie to fix the supposed wrongs from the Batman Vs Superman movie! I thought Suicide Squad was a good summer time blockbuster movie! However the main issue I found with the movie was the plot and lack of forgettable characters!
Let me start by saying, Suicide squads plot was rubbish and we the viewers had been missold this dream of a villain vs villain battle that was fun and to get DC and Warner Bros. back on track after the commercial and fan dissapointment of Batman Vs Superman!!
The trailers missold the viewer to believe Joker was the main villain and there would be a lot more joker scenes, even Jared Leto was publically upset about the issues and claims he had filmed a movie worth of footage. Even as I write this the released extended version of Suicide squad ONLY has a few extra 13 minutes of extended footage.
I havent seen all of it but apparently develops the Harley Quinn character to show she analyses her opponents and is crazy due to chasing Jared Leto's Joker. You see a bit of a darker side of the Joker as he doesnt have time for her.
This was the first time Joker was back on the big screen since Heath Ledger and unfrotunately Warner Brothers did a disservice to Jared Leto, the character and the fans by not giving Jared Leto's joker more screen time and making him the big bad villain of the movie!

Suicide Squad: What the plot should have been!
As I entered the cinema with my friends to watch Suicide Squad, I was excited. I got to finally see this brand new movie where the villains were the stars!! We finally got to see the DCEU's versions of Joker and Harley Quinn, Jared Leto AND Margot Robbie!! A movie that was seen to set the record straight for Warner Bros and get the DCEU back on track!!
A brilliant soundtrack, exciting new characters, brilliant cast including Will Smith, Jared Leto and Margot Robbie, awesome trailers!!! It was looking so promising!

I watched the movie and walked out into the foyer with my friends...I was a little bit letdown by this hollywood blockbuster villain vs villain movie!! I hated the plot!! I'll agree that at the time I was like "yeah its a good popcorn summer movie to go see" but I still hated the plot and I started talking about how I would have done the movie. To which my friends eyes lit up and they laughed and talked with me regarding my idea.
Put simply this is how I would have done it!!
After a breaf hiatus The Joker has broken out of Arkham/Blackgate and reappears threatening Gotham City with a dirty bomb! Joker has taken over City Hall, he has his men, a lot of guns and a tank and threatens to blow up the city!
The government activate Plan X created by Amanda Waller to use super powered criminals to fight the big bad super villain the Joker!We are intorduced to the team, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Killer Croc, Captain Boomerang, Slipknot et all. They are also introduced to the Enchantress, another villain being used by the government (this one isnt as overpowered as the one from the movie)

The characters are introduced with their origin stories and how they ended up in prison, showing scenes where batman takes each opponent out and leaves them for police. Harley Quinn since her capture is torn between resentment and loving Mr J showing his control over her! She decides after a brief internal discussion she wants revenge on the joker!
Suicide squad is introduced and sent in to slowly take out Jokers men and to reach him and disable the bomb. Harley Quinn is no longer lovesick for her Mr J but becomes a stronger, independent character after he beat her and left her to die when their car was submerged in Gotham dock!

Batman is barely seen until the end, merely seen as a shadow, batarangs taking out enemies!! hes meant to be scary for these villains! Like the scenes we saw when Batman broke into Lexcorp!!
As it turns out Joker's not at City Hall!! The bomb is a fake wind up box present (infamously Joker) - He's secretly taken over Black Gate prison and now has Amanda Waller as his prisoner! The Suicide Squad escape Gotham by helicopter and try to get to Black Gate as quick as possible!
Batman having already made the connections is already on his way to Blackgate, when he arrives there is another almighty scene of him clearing Jokers Thugs and his Batmobile takes out a few of them!
The Squad run in and start fighting Jokers personal thugs with the Batman assisting and Harley quinn breaks through and gets to face her puddin!! But is unable to shoot him in the end - As Joker escapes, Batman appears from the shadows and finishes the Joker knocking him out and locking him up
