Warhammer My Story Part 18 Monster Hunter Warhammer!
So title of this blog is because finally I have got Monster Hunter World!!! Welcome to February you geeky readers you!! New Games, new content, new models, new news and 7 months in my current job role and things have got much better!!
Working in Digital Services has been an eye-opening experience for me and I have learned a lot through this development role! I still have 5 months left and I want to go for an EO position on a full time basis as I believe I can do the Job, just with my current background I have no developer experience and no coding experience! I can do an EO, job just where though??
Onwards and upwards as they say! I am trying to sit down and learn coding but I am so busy at the moment with things happening all the time! Coding I think will be beneficial if I try for any roles in IT in the future aswell and will give me new skills!
So first weekend of February has me checking out a house with my girlfriend and then Sunday potentially a Warhammer 40k game! First game in a month!! First game with new Primaris Ultramarines! Then followed by a catchup with friends and a Super Bowl Sunday! New England Patriots vs Philadelphia Eagles! Come on Eagles!!
So Monster Hunter World on PS4 is awesome!! (Please see Review**) keeping it short, the game is very immersive, filled with content and I am enjoying playing the game with friends and by myself!! Think the game is similar to Dark Souls with open, exploring gameplay!
Pros:
Moving on to the Warhammer news, so we had Nurgles new Maggotkin of Nurgle release! Which look all vile and plaguey and awesome! NOW we have the Malign Portents revealed and Death is getting a few upgrades!! Nagash is back and as evil as ever!! The Daughters of Khaine have now also arrived throwing even more chaos to the mix!! The Dark elves who follow chaos in Slaanesh and Khorne in a way, but arent dark elves part of order?!?!?! Im super confused on the issue! Hope to have a catch up with the Warhammered soon!!
Superbowl Sunday!!
04/02/2018 So no Warhammer! BUT Superbowl Sunday was upon us!! 2 of my DnD party, Gary and Graham, had traveled down from Scotland and London respectively to spend time with us all!!
I gathered my homemade packet brownies, crisps, sweets and soft drink and headed to Nik's at 2pm!
There was around 7 of us, one of our group Jarv was sadly unwell and could not make it! introductions were made and I finally got to meet my DnD friends face to face! So happy and excited to meet them!!
We played Fluxx, a bizarre card game created by NASA scientists, then started drinking Grahams Scottish cider called Thistly Cross, which he was kind enough to bring! FLUXX is funny and a very simple game that can last 10 minutes to an hour as we found out!! The cider Thistly Cross was good!!
2 of the party left later on in the evening and the group ordered Papa John's Pizza and a local Chinese!! I got to talk more with Gary and Graham and I also finally got to play Madden NFL!Which was really fun! Almost beating Niki twice!
At 11:30pm we finally got to watch the Superbowl! The New England patriots, returning Superbowl winners, versus the Philadelphia Eagles!
I have been following NFL over the last few years but haven't really decided or picked on a team, I started liking and following the NFL when Dallas Cowboys came to London a few years ago, then loosely followed Green Bay Packers and now recently I was the only one of our group supporting the Eagles during the Super Bowl as they were the underdogs!
Might decide to follow the Eagles more, I like "Everything is sunny in Philadelphia" the TV series (think I may revisit it) and Philly's prodigal son Rocky Balboa, I'm a massive Rocky fan and I'm hoping to go to Philadelphia next time I'm in America! Hopefully on our New York trip (whenever that is)! Might even pick up an Eagles Jersey! Definetly picking up a few traditional Philly cheesesteaks and running up the Rocky steps!!
Nik is a HUGE New England Patriots fan, he had the Brady Jersey and American football ball to prove it!! He was reading stats to me during the game!! Stats! So American!
A thrilling close game of American Football, filled with amazing laughs and banter throughout the game! The game was close but really fun and tested both teams!!
In the end the Philadelphia Eagles, the underdogs, beat the New England Patriots fair and square!!
Really enjoyed and will hopefully watch the Super Bowl next year as well!!
Might even watch the NFL Wembley game on TV! Philadelphia Eagles vs Jacksonville Jaguars 21/10 or 28/10!!
05/02/2018 Had to have Monday 05/02 off due to the Superbowl, got home at 4:30am! Went to bed and woke up around 8am and jumped on Monster Hunter World, lack of sleep started to hit me at about 9pm but I stayed up till 11pm and crashed!
Digital Literacy college day on the Tuesday! Back to work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! Got 2 house viewings Thursday! and we have Claire's sister coming down this weekend which should be fun!
So Saturday 10/02/2018 we saw the town house again for a second time! We even put a bid on the house! which was rejected! See what happens now over the next few days - It is a lovely house and it is a lot of money - there are still things we havent looked in to.
12/02/2018 Back to work Monday. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday! Got the second part to my Digital Literacy course to do Wednesday! Got a few house viewings to go through and potentially a third viewing of the town house to sort out any extra items. Decisions, decisions.....
06/02/2018 So first game of DnD in February Vann, made his return to the group of mercenaries, surprisingly alive and not crushed by the boulder!
He awoke on a stone table with his body and Armour intact ,with the name Vann scratched in to his shield! His memories were hazy and warped. All he could remember was seeing a giant boulder coming towards him and then darkness.
In that darkness he saw a beautiful sight as if he was on top of the highest mountain looking across the world, he awoke speaking to a person he had never seen before, a being of immense power! Vann's task and job had not finished yet, that is when he awoke from his slumber, the nightmare being just a nightmare!
Vann resolved himself to figure out why he had returned, what was his task and who the being was he spoke to?
He looked down and in his scabbard was not the long sword he had earlier but now sitting there was the blade he lost when his party were chucked in to a dungeon, 2 years ago (thanks to Barry's previous character)!!
The blade was powerful and had strange incantations on it - the sword itself looked similar but now had a dark energy or smoke seeping off of it.
Awaking Vann entered the giant temple with the giant statues and could hear the commotion of his friends and as he entered the light the group uttered a shock to see Vann standing there alive and looking well!
Zanoon was also there who had returned from his hiatus to assist our group on our journey...alas Vann heard Fedion had died facing off against a great creature the previous week!
While talking we managed to figure out where to further progress on our adventure! Hashnag (The Frost Giant) touched the frost sigil which opened up the path and we came across a body of a person who had been killed many years ago - frozen among the ice. He came back to us as a phantasm telling us a story of treachery and to resolve the warring factions of the giants we needed to find magic artifacts stored in burial sites hidden across the country!!
13/02/2018 Second game of DnD for February! We are now on a quest to find a murderer and find the ancient relics that will bring calm to the storm of the giant clans!
Venturing from the Eye of the All-Father we were greeted by an airship! An airship!! Vann shouts out!! A beautiful crafted ship with a huge red baloon!! The Dragon Cult airship! 2 rope ladders unfurled from the ship!
We are greeted by the Dragon Cult, a heavily armored captain and their crew. They were sent by the Dragon Calth to aid us in our journey to help us traverse the giant countryside! While searching the air ship Captain Talon, Synthen and Vann found the fine Dwarven lager and decided to have many many drinks!
Captain Talon collapsed in bed drunk, Vann and Synthan continued drinking and everyone went around the airship, exploring the harpoon gun, bothering the captain with random questions, to the steering wheel and to the beds.
Jarvis left early and Esilla (Ash) jumped in as he was late due to pancake day!!
4-5 hours later we approached The Great Worm Cavern, our first destination!
While venturing from the airship, Vann slaps Captain Talon awake from his drunken stupor, waking him and wounding him with 1+ damage! Doesn't know his own strength!!
The cavern they walked through is completely covered in ice, glittering ice!! We ventured into the giant ice cavern and were attacked by Tribal warriors lying in wait for us!! Esilla slipped trying to venture towards Synthan, Vann dashed towards Synthan but not far enough!!
Esilla tried his first shot and the bow snapped, Vann stepped up and hit one of the Tribal warriors with his short bow!!
As the group carried on across the ice the Tribal Warriors dissapeared under the snow at the top tier.
Even as they attacks continue we carried on across the ice as the Tribal warriors keep appearing and disappearing among the snow!
Zanoon enters the nearest cave and found a mother with 4 children! Zanoon offered mercy and said we were not here to hurt them! Zanoon backs out of the cave and is attacked again by the Tribal warriors!! Zanoon deflects their shots with ease!
Vann is prone while climbing the slope, while Esilla slowly rides a fallen Synthan over the ice!
Zanoon checks another cave and is met by more women and children! Esilla continues to use Synthan as a sled along the ice, even as Synthan tries to pull Esilla off, to no joy!!
As we continue towards the slope and the caves we are still receiving multiple attacks from the Tribal warriors! Zanoon had to leave the game and we continued.
Captain Talon decided to use one of the ladies in the caves as a hostage to stop the sneak attacks! However the first lady he tried to use as a hostage, beat him up!! When finally overpowering her and using her as the hostage with his cutlass to her throat!! The Tribal warriors still shot at him!!!
Esilla (Ash), still riding Synthan (Graham) then used his amazing long bow range and killed both Tribal warriors in 2 critical shots, shooting one dead, then as the other one stared in disbelief and horror at his fellow tribal warrior, he died with an arrow through the skull!! DnD game finished for the week!
Played DnD 27/02/2018! Last game of February! So the last time we left the group we had been travelling to the first marker! Since then group had progressed to a new location and had been attacked by berserkers, shamans and a manticore was flying around them!
With the Manticore flying about and berserkers waging war on the group, Vann strode into battle and killed his berserker in 2 turns! Captain Talon with a cry of victory killed another with his rapier!
Synthan and Zanoon were down injured and close to death! A Shaman was part of the berserker group, Vann narrowly misses a heavy magical spell! Vann fought with the shaman, managed to survive another magic spell and slays the shaman in 2 slashes of his blade Nech't Tan'Ehbo!
The Manticore landed on the battlefield roaring and snapping at the group, Captain Talon loaded his weapon and pierced the Manticore twice, it let a long deathly roar and collapsed, the group ecstatic and the Captain demanded he be brought a drink!
Healing after our fight we continued across the pass coming across a camp site, we checked the tents for items and while 3 of our party rested, 3 stood guard and were suddenly attacked by another party of berserkers and a shaman! The group continued to fight and managed to kill the party again, Vann killing 2 berserkers and a Shaman. Nursing our wounds the party set up for a short rest before continuing our adventure!
We talked about a new Warhammer roleplay being held in Gamers Emporium some of us may try and the fact we do want to play a game of DnD around a table, as it was played and created!
We started talking about Warhammer World and would people still be interested in going this year!
14/02/2018 So bit of news me and the girlfriend put in an offer on the house, which was accepted!
Fingers crossed and see what happens!
Man cave/ Bat cave/ Command centre already located and there is also a separate man cave in the Garage, maybe to put some gym equipment in and or a table for Warhammer!

Exciting weekend, with us having the offer accepted on the house! Now need to see our mortgage broker to continue the deal.
16/02/2018 Finally got to see Andrew and John, havent seen them since November/December! So we had a Friday night of catching up with Andrew, John and Nikkie, seeing Andrew and Nikkie's new house, gaming, playing with Daisy (their dog), watching some anime and having a chinese takeaway!!
Saturday then me and Claire went into town to sort out some mortgage documents, Claire went out later in the evening with friends and I ended up being the late night taxi!! Chilled out Saturday and Sunday (Claire was hungover)!
Got to finally watch Thor Ragnarok....I found it funny at parts but dont agree with people that its the funniest or best Marvel movie ever!
19/02/2018 back to work, meeting with broker and DND 20/02/2018 - Sadly had to miss DnD due to the illness! Apparently the others are in trouble as a Manticore has turned up and more berserkers! Issues with the laptop during the week so fingers crossed I can find time to diagnose the issue.

26/02/2018 Back in work for 2 weeks and then a short trip to Poland! Then back to work and a few well deserved days off!! Hoping I can finally get a game of 40k this week! Fingers crossed the fix to the laptop seems to have worked so I can have a game of DnD on Tuesday, as I missed last week!!
Tried the new Diet Coke Mango....yeah basically its a mango fanta and its okay!
Work has been busy this week as my colleague who does most of the technical stuff has been away, get a message off my girlfirend 01/03/2018 that DVLA were closing the building at 2pm because of the snow and would be closed tomorrow aswell! Being based in Swansea its been cold -4c cold!! But hardly any snow!! (literally looked outside the window and nothing)
Our building closed at 3pm, thats when the snow started to fall and start to get heavier as I drove home!
DVLA confirmed they would be closed for 02/03/2018 but our office was still open. I went in for 8am and roads seemed to open up after I hit the M4! Got a lovely email to say the building was closing at 4pm! Typical I was finishing then!
Why is it when the rest of the country gets snow or "the beast from the east" Swansea never gets it! We get a little bit of ice and snow and thats it!
BATMAN NEWS!
Nothing much to report fellow Bat Fans!! Most news has been about the upcoming Justice league blu-ray DVD release(26th March 2018)! Deleted scenes have hit the internet..Dark Side cut from the movie and images of Superman in the black costume!! Rumours have arisen that Zack Snyder was fired after an unwatchable cut of Justice League for executives but he's still working with Warner Brothers in regards to the universe and other projects not related to DC .... Take what you will from this! Batfleck is still Batman! Yes! May have to preorder the Justice League Blu Ray DVD or pick it up at a later date!

- Huge amount of content thrown into the game!! Lots of things to do!! Hunting, capturing, creating, adventuring!!
- Has Multiplayer! Everything is better with multiplayer!
- Free additional content provided by Capcom will be released over the next year or two!!
- Multiplayer can be a nightmare to set up (found out they are reviewing it to make it easier like Destiny making it far easier to jump into friend's games)

Exciting weekend, with us having the offer accepted on the house! Now need to see our mortgage broker to continue the deal.
16/02/2018 Finally got to see Andrew and John, havent seen them since November/December! So we had a Friday night of catching up with Andrew, John and Nikkie, seeing Andrew and Nikkie's new house, gaming, playing with Daisy (their dog), watching some anime and having a chinese takeaway!!
Saturday then me and Claire went into town to sort out some mortgage documents, Claire went out later in the evening with friends and I ended up being the late night taxi!! Chilled out Saturday and Sunday (Claire was hungover)!
Got to finally watch Thor Ragnarok....I found it funny at parts but dont agree with people that its the funniest or best Marvel movie ever!
19/02/2018 back to work, meeting with broker and DND 20/02/2018 - Sadly had to miss DnD due to the illness! Apparently the others are in trouble as a Manticore has turned up and more berserkers! Issues with the laptop during the week so fingers crossed I can find time to diagnose the issue.

Service were super friendly and happy to sort free refills, food was really good and cannot wait to try breakfast there....we went after 5pm and I did not fancy pancakes....until I saw the mountain of pancakes on the dishes for the table next to me!! Super Jealous!

26/02/2018 Back in work for 2 weeks and then a short trip to Poland! Then back to work and a few well deserved days off!! Hoping I can finally get a game of 40k this week! Fingers crossed the fix to the laptop seems to have worked so I can have a game of DnD on Tuesday, as I missed last week!!
Tried the new Diet Coke Mango....yeah basically its a mango fanta and its okay!
Work has been busy this week as my colleague who does most of the technical stuff has been away, get a message off my girlfirend 01/03/2018 that DVLA were closing the building at 2pm because of the snow and would be closed tomorrow aswell! Being based in Swansea its been cold -4c cold!! But hardly any snow!! (literally looked outside the window and nothing)
Our building closed at 3pm, thats when the snow started to fall and start to get heavier as I drove home!
DVLA confirmed they would be closed for 02/03/2018 but our office was still open. I went in for 8am and roads seemed to open up after I hit the M4! Got a lovely email to say the building was closing at 4pm! Typical I was finishing then!
Why is it when the rest of the country gets snow or "the beast from the east" Swansea never gets it! We get a little bit of ice and snow and thats it!
BATMAN NEWS!
Nothing much to report fellow Bat Fans!! Most news has been about the upcoming Justice league blu-ray DVD release(26th March 2018)! Deleted scenes have hit the internet..Dark Side cut from the movie and images of Superman in the black costume!! Rumours have arisen that Zack Snyder was fired after an unwatchable cut of Justice League for executives but he's still working with Warner Brothers in regards to the universe and other projects not related to DC .... Take what you will from this! Batfleck is still Batman! Yes! May have to preorder the Justice League Blu Ray DVD or pick it up at a later date!
- Only DC news is that Shazam is in production right now, Nightwing is still in development and could potentially be pushed back 5 years!! The Titans TV show is slowly building hype as DC drop pictures of the young actors in full costume and Aquaman is building up hype for December 21st 2018!!

Jurassic World 2: Fallen Kingdom - So a trailer dropped showing that Jurassic World, the island had gone wild and was now inhabited by the dinosaurs, like Jurassic Park 2! We may see a darker story in relation to the ending of Jurassic World happen but we have to see what happens Dinosaur fans!!
Solo: A Star Wars movie - So the full trailer dropped for the next adventure of the galaxies favourite scoundrel! This looks interesting, Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) starts off as an Imperial academy pilot, gets kicked out of the academy and becomes a pilot for a ragtag crew! meeting his mentor, his long time friend and co-pilot chewbacca, working with Lando Calrrisian and we get to see the Millenium Falcon all shiny and new!! Looking forward to this!!
Venom - So the next big movie dropped a teaser trailer in February! Tom Hardy stars as the big bad super villain/ sometimes good guy Venom! A character who has always stood out as one of Spiderman's best villains and in some cases best ally!
The lack of actually seeing the titular character Venom hit the internet (people weren't happy)
This is still teased as a teaser trailer, hopefully when the Official full trailer drops we see the transformed Eddie Brock into Venom! We want to see Venom!
Personal opinion: Yeah wasnt fussed with the trailer, their hiding a lot of information and I think Sony are doing this on purpose! Or they were rushed to provide a trailer and it shows as scenes dont look finished.
There is what looks like a symbiote moving in a canister and or running through his veins at one point but thats it (which looked cool)!
It wasn't the Venom movie so far it was the Tom Hardy movie!!
We still dont know much about the story but the trailer looks like Tom Hardy plays a ne'er do well Eddie Brock who may be a journalist (who knows) and who looks like he's struggling with his own demons and when he gets attached to the symbiote hopefully there will be much destruction..waiting for the next trailer then we'll see what happens!

Monster Hunter World: Thoroughly enjoying the game, very fun collecting items and building up your arsenal of armour and weaponry - only issue I find is prepare to die often!! Got up to level 12/13 and faced off against Negigigante! Got the Zorah Magdaros armour and Zorah Dual blades, which are awesome! Just working through investigations and bounties! Next task is to start fighting more Odagaron's, make the high rank armour from its items and also develop a new weapon or two!
Collecting Odagaron armour, running investigations and expeditions!!
Been playing some Rocket League when I need a little break from Monster Hunter World and really enjoying the chaos! Trying to play some of my other games too!
Back to the Office!
The Office is in a mess at the moment and haven't been able to finish any models or play 40k or Warhammer so far this year!!
New Man Cave/ Bat Cave/ Command Centre on the horizon and a personal garage space to be used!!!
Warhammer: Nothing happening on my side, hope to get back painting during March. I have the rest of my Seraphon to finish painting and to make a start on my Ultramarines!
Movies and tv watched:
Watching netflix, DVD's and a bit of TV!
People just do nothing (Netflix): BBC Three comedy, set in London where a bunch of pot smoking lay abouts try to run an illegal radio station Kurupt FM. 3/5 from DLLorenzo, surprisingly funny. Reminded me of Ali G, east side is the best kind of thing. Easy watching and some very silly funny plots.
Half Baked (Netflix): daft comedy about a bunch of friendly potheads try to save their friend who gets locked up in jail. 2/5 from DLLorenzo, terrible script, terrible acting, overly daft comedy.
David Brent - Life back on the road (Netflix): This movie follows David Brent from the BBC accalimed tv comedy "The Office" in his quest to become a rockstar! 3/5 from DLLorenzo, a mockumentary following David Brent trying to escape the work life to finally become a rockstar, I actually enjoyed watching this!
Thor-Ragnarock (DVD): Follows Thor from were we last saw him in Thor 2 adventuring to other plains, Thor is reunited with friends and a new enemy appears that spells doom for Asgard! 3/5 from DLLorenzo, with all the hype about this movie that was labelled the BEST Marvel Movie and the funniest, I actually felt a bit let down watching it. Some genuine funny moments and some bits which felt like they were chucked in just because! Not the best Marvel movie in my own opinion.
Video Games:
Nothing much to be honest apart from playing Rocket League and Monster Hunter World!
I have felt the pull of Fifa 18 lately but only willing to buy that when it gets cheaper! Played Blood Bowl 2 and played some Need For Speed!
Waiting on Space Hulk Deathwing console release 27th March!!

Bought Tremors 5: Bloodlines for £2-3 off amazon and a book I have really fancied Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain which I am really looking forward to reading! Next purchase will either be Macragge blue paint for my space marines or Space Hulk Deathwing end of March as my priority so far is buying that new house....the game has been preordered well over a year!!
