Cyberpunk 2077

Coming from famed Polish game developers CD Projekt RED, the company who brought us The Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077 is an upcoming first person shooter/RPG  game for PC, Xbox and PS4 and may appear on the upcoming next generation consoles Xbox Scarlett and PS5 in 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 is based off of Cyberpunk 2020 and its many associated books and content from R Talsorian games. Created and developed by Mike Pondsmith.

WELCOME TO DLLORENZO'S CYBERPUNK 2077 FACTS!

  • The game is developed by publisher and developer company CD Projekt Red who made the Witcher games, it has been made on a special games engine called the Red engine.
  • CD Projekt Red have also worked alongside Cyberpunk 2020 creator Mike Pondsmith or R.Talsorian games to create the plot and to develop the game world!
  • Cyberpunk 2077, unlike the Witcher, will be a fully first person role playing game, there will be moments such in vehicles that you will be able to play in third person.
  • The plot of the game surround an immortality chip that changes V’s life where V is tasked to find it by unknown means and we believe V inserts it and that’s how V starts seeing the Johnny Silverhand!
  • Cyberpunk will have lots of dialogue options, all scripted and that will have different outcomes for in-game either strengthening relations with NPC's/ gangs or making things worse or changing the dynamic entirely.
  • Based on major decisions in your game, Cyberpunk 2077 will have multiple endings.
  • Failing a quest, isn’t always mission failed - no game over, characters may mention failures in game however!
  • You will play as a character called V, you will be able to customise the character's gender (male/female or other supposedly), voice, face, hairstyle, tattoos, piercings, body size, Cybernetic modifications, background and clothing.
  • You will be able to pick 3 backgrounds, you can be a Nomad, a traveller living outside the cities, a Street kid growing up on the streets  or a Corporation/Corpo agent, growing up in the businesses of Night City
  • The Background can be further edited as the reasons your in Night City etc, revenge, love, or lack of etc.
  • You will be able to pick specific skills for your very own V, your skills listed as Body, Intelligence, Reflexes, Technical and Cool will change throughout the game as you customise your equipment, clothing, experience level and social standing.

  • There are 3 player classes, Solo (the running gunning lone mercenary type which is firmly a combat type) Techie (handles networking and machinery) and the Net-Runner (able to hack into databases and systems). You can either specialise in one class or build your V into a mix of all three classes.
  • Being a mercenary in Cyberpunk 2077 you will have access to weapons throughout the game, so pistols, shotguns, rifles, modified guns with additional perks, incendiary rounds, tracking, bullet bouncing, this is cyberpunk after all, also noticed there may be modified swords/katanas. There are mantis blades that come as an available cybernetic option.
  • V will be able to start relationships with NPC's and these will evolve depending on story or by speaking to other NPC's. These will evolve from allies, friendships to relationships and more.
  • Night City will be an open  world in Cyberpunk and will have 6 main sections, the Corporate Main City centre, immigrant filled Watson, luxurious and security filled Westbrook, suburban Heywood, gang infested Pacifica and the industrial Santo Dominga
  • The Map that has been seen in some promotional posters and clips seems smaller and some say smaller than the The Witcher 3 game, HOWEVER we are told all of the buildings will be accessible including big skyscraper buildings. You will apparently be able to travel on bikes/cars and even hinted there may be a subway system as shown in the trailers. The Map below comes in the limited edition of the game, standard editions that have pre-ordered will get a similar version
 ^^ look at the delorean-esque Quadra V-Tech

  • Vehicles, we have been told, at some point will be feature customisation to a degree - more to come on this as said by one of the games content designers. Vehicles shown to be drivable so far, is the car in the 48 minute game play showed in 2018, known as the Quadra V-Tech, which is owned by Jackie Welles, an ally of V's and a motorcycle called the Yaiba Kusanagi, which looks similar to the bike from critically acclaimed anime movie Akira, the protagonist Kaneda rode! In a recent interview most vehicles will be drivable, cars, bikes and vans were cited.

  • V will have an apartment in Night City, as seen in the demo, in forums questions have been asked to CD Projekt Red whether you will have multiple bases or safe houses which have been mentioned, they have said the Apartment is tied in with the story so these safe houses may only be temporary.
  • Apparently V's apartment will apparently change as you play the story and missions and will develop into your own personal apartment depending on the paths you take as V.
  • We've had 2 game play trailers that are available online, the first from E3 2018 the 48 minute game play trailer, then recently at E3 2019, a 15 minute game play video showing 2 different play styles strong solo player and a stealthy net-runner with some added game play
  • So in the 1st game play demo we see a female V undertake a mission to recover an NPC who had gone offline, on success of the mission V is then invited by a Night City fixer to carry out a mission with various consequences.

  • In the 2nd game play trailer, CD Projekt RED decided to show us how two different classes act in the same game play and how they might approach situations.
  • There has been controversy regarding the game, such as racial remarks online where some reviewers have seen some gangs are of colour and being called Animals, this was someone very small minded and racially jumping over a gang called the Animals that seem to show members of the gang of colour, cybernetically improved or using muscle boosters to improve fighting and strength capabilities.
  • The other has been some of the oversexualised posters seen across the world of Cyberpunk, especially a poster for a drinks brand in that world. Cyberpunk has a rich history of trans humanism which will attract attention regardless. It was reported that Cyberpunk will (possibly) allow you to play as a transgender or non-binary character. What viewers noticed was a poster of a highly sexualised poster featuring a trans woman with a huge "cybernetic" bulge and the tagline "Mix it up"!

  • CD Projekt RED have confirmed there will be a Multiplayer, however it wont be at launch so we would need to wait, more information to come on this and how they will bring this in. Multiplayer features are said to be in testing for the game, we do not know what they will be.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 will feature Keanu Reeves as Johnny Silverhand, lead rockerboy of famous punk rock band Samurai. We don't know much but seems Johnny Silverhand is tied into the main story and we are pretty sure he is tied into this immortal chip that's in V's head, as he talks to you through the game but seems to be a corporeal being and only V seems to be the one who can see or hear him.
  • We have Cyberpunk and The Witcher 3 collectables figurines coming from Mcfarlane Toys
  • CD Projekt RED will be working with several artists for the soundtrack. It was revealed at the latest Gamescom with a performance from Grimes that she and a host of other artists, The Refused, Run the Jewels, A$AP Rocky amongst others will be developing the tracks to create a varied soundtrack.
  • The Refused, a punk rock band from Sweden, have created some of the first songs such as "Chippin in" and will play music as the fictional band Samurai, the famous band which Rockerboy Johnny Silverhand was the leader of. Grimes another music artist will appear in game as famous pop star icon Lizzy Wizzy

  • Pre-order bonuses - so currently I have pre-ordered through www. Amazon.co.uk and for £49.99 I get the game, the case with the discs with a custom artwork sleeve, a world compendium, stickers, postcards and a map of night city. Digital extras include the soundtrack to cyberpunk 2077, digital art book, cyberpunk 2020 source book and wallpapers for desktops and phones.  Collectors edition are all sold out.
  • The rumour is that Cyberpunk 2077 may support Virtual Reality (VR). This was debunked a year or so ago by developers saying that they were focusing on the core game first and foremost then maybe VR.  With the PSVR and VR games starting to develop for bigger markets and with the hype surrounding this game I can see them bringing Cyberpunk 2077 to VR or at least getting a VR company to work with them into developing VR for the game, as a recent convert to PSVR I am really interested in seeing this come true.

  • So we recently got hit with the news Cyberpunk 2077 NOW DELAYED TILL SEPTEMBER 17TH!!! So this move will hopefully bring more time for extensive play testing, bug fixing, problem is this may cause delays for future developments. Hopefully this is the last delay and the game is finished ready for release in September - My leave request has been put in!

  • Cyberpunk POP figurines incoming! So far a leaked image showed a Male V, female V, Johnny Silverhand with glasses and double pistols and then another Johnny Silverhand in a crouched pose!

  • The AAA game rumour where some gamer's thought may be The Witcher 4 has turned out to be a full team developing the Multiplayer spin-off for Cyberpunk, but with the added delay on the current Cyberpunk, we may not see this until 2021 or later..... we knew the multiplayer was being developed but at the moment there is very little to go on.

MORE TO FOLLOW, we're 404 for now until more information is released, keep on Chippin in Cyberpunks!
